Embedded in the scientific community

Getting to know our customers

Last year, colleagues attended more than 250 international scientific conferences, raising awareness of our products and services; talking to and learning from scientific researchers; as well as meeting with our journals and ebooks board members.

We ran customer focus groups in a number of regions in an effort to understand the challenges facing research authors – and specifically to understand how we as a specialist publisher can better support scientists at all stages of the publication process.

IOP Publishing Academy

We organised 20 workshops in nine countries to provide early-career researchers with guidance and learning on the fundamentals of academic publishing.

Library Advisory Boards

We have an active and engaged Library Advisory Board, and we held four regional meetings last year in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and India. The members of each board represent a broad spectrum of librarians, providing an invaluable source of advice and feedback to shape our publishing programme.
