Nano Express – a new open access journal from IOP Publishing

12 Dec 2019 by Simon Davies

IOP Publishing is announcing Nano Express, a new open access addition to its materials science portfolio, which will compliment Nanotechnology and Nano Futures as a trio of connected titles dedicated to nanoscience.

Nano Express will cover all areas of nanoscale science and technology and articles will be free to read. It will be characterised by a broad multidisciplinary scope, fast-track peer-review and production processes, and an inclusive editorial policy focused on scientific rigour and validity rather than perceived impact.

The journal will be led by founding Editor-in-Chief, Professor Antonio Di Bartolomeo (University of Salerno, Italy). He will be supported by a diverse Editorial Board of leading researchers representing the journal’s full scientific coverage.

Professor Di Bartolomeo said: “We are aware of the work behind any new scientific results and the effort required in writing a paper, especially in the competitive field of nanoscience. Nano Express will recognise this through a commitment to provide authors with the fastest possible publication, as well as maximum visibility and reach in rapidly bringing their peer-reviewed research to the widest possible audience.”

“IOP’s history in nanoscience dates back to 1990, when we launched Nanotechnology as the world’s first journal dedicated to nanoscale research. Nano Express adds to our programme as a unique new open access publishing option for the community with a specific remit to reflect how research at the nanoscale now extends to all areas of the physical and biological sciences,” said Dr Tim Smith, Associate Director for Journals Product Development at IOP Publishing.

Nano Express is now open for submissions and as part of our commitment to open science, IOP Publishing is initially waiving all open access article publication charges (APCs).

Full details about the scope, Editorial Board and submission guidelines can be found on the journal homepage.
