#IOPPposter is bigger and broader – IOP Publishing’s twitter poster conference returns

26 May 2021 by James McGraw

IOP Publishing’s #IOPPposter twitter conference is set to bring the global scientific community together again with 24-hours dedicated to online discussion and knowledge exchange about the latest research in emerging areas of interest.

Building on the success of last year’s event, which generated more than 50 posters submitted from participants in 17 countries, this year #IOPPposter is expanding. Taking place on Twitter between 14-15 July, researchers can submit a poster in any one of 14 subject categories. The event, which is free to register for and attend, is an opportunity to share latest research with a global audience of peers and subject experts, engage in discussion and gather interdisciplinary reactions.

A winner will be selected from each subject category by leading international experts and IOPP journal board members. Winners will receive £100 voucher and an IOP ebook of their choice.

Miriam Maus, publishing director at IOP Publishing said: “Hosting a poster conference on twitter is an innovative  way in which scientists can share and discover early-stage research. We were encouraged by the success of last year’s event and look forward to seeing the conversation flow again.”

Cathy Foley, editor in chief of Superconductor Science and Technology and a subject chair for the event said: “I am delighted to be part of this great initiative for scientists to disseminate their research and ignite discussion. This is a valuable outlet for researchers to get connected from around the globe and discover what fellow researchers are working on in their field.”
