Algerian Government signs five year deal to widen access to physics research

20 Jan 2012 by iopp

The Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has signed a five-year agreement with IOP Publishing to provide access to key content to over 60 institutions across Algeria.

This new partnership will greatly improve access for Algerian scholars to cutting edge scientific research, giving them access to over 400 thousand papers from over 60 journals in key subjects such as nanotechology, semi-conductors and plasma science through IOPscience. The new arrangement includes access to IOP Publishing’s extensive journal archive which goes back to 1874.

All institutions that fall under the jurisdiction of the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research will benefit from this new deal, which is a result of the governments considerable investment in the countries educational infrastructure in order to raise the national standard of education and research output. The new licence will be administered through the Algerian Centre for Scientific and Technical Information (CERIST).
