Purpose-Led Publishing unveils global event network to bring the APS Global Physics Summit to communities worldwide
Purpose-Led Publishing (PLP) – the coalition formed by AIP Publishing, the American Physical Society (APS), and IOP Publishing – is hosting a network of 23 satellite events across the globe to expand participation in the 2026 APS Global Physics Summit.
Taking place in March in Denver, the Summit is one of the world’s leading gatherings for the physics community. PLP’s global satellite hubs, offered both in person and online, will enable researchers to engage with Summit programming, contribute to discussions, and participate in locally organised workshops and presentations.
By sponsoring these hubs, PLP aims to support participation and create meaningful, community-based spaces for researchers to come together, regardless of geography.
“These gatherings bring physicists together on a global scale, removing geographical and financial barriers” said Rachel Burley, Chief Publications Officer at APS. “By creating spaces where researchers can connect, share ideas, and engage with the 2026 Global Physics Summit alongside peers in their own regions, these satellite events make the Summit accessible to more scientists globally.”
The satellite events will host livestreamed and recorded Summit content, topical debates, expert-led sessions and opportunities for networking, ensuring that physicists can be active participants in shaping the future of the discipline. The 23 events will take place in the following locations:
