IOP ebooks™ is an award-winning book programme that brings together innovative digital publishing with leading voices from across physics to create the essential collection of physics books for a digital world.
Created through collaboration with leading researchers in their field, IOP ebooks feature must-read content for the physics community. This programme plays an essential part in communicating high-quality research and delivering key learning materials to the scientific community.
The way users interact with book content is changing. By making the ebook the primary format, authors in the IOP ebook programme are able to fully exploit ever-evolving digital publishing capabilities. Multimedia and advanced features are an integral part of the book. Content is semantically enriched to optimize discoverability and offer an enhanced reading experience.
The IOP ebooks programme initially comprises two complementary collections, IOP Expanding Physics and IOP Concise Physics. Together, the collections serve the needs of undergraduate students through to advanced students and field experts.
IOP Expanding Physics publishes high-quality texts from leading voices across the research landscape on key areas in physics and related subject areas.
IOP Concise Physics, developed with Morgan & Claypool (M&C), focuses on shorter texts in rapidly advancing areas or topics where an introductory text is more appropriate. These texts are the "first book" on a topic – either the first book published on a fast-moving area or the first book for anyone looking for a current introduction to a subject.
