IOP Publishing launches Remarq pilot on a number of journals

01 Jun 2017 by Simon Davies Remarq, the newly launched editorial engagement and researcher collaboration tool from RedLink, is now live on several IOP Publishing journals

RedLink is pleased to announce a pilot of Remarq™ on several IOP Publishing journals, including the Journal of Optics, the New Journal of Physics, Nanotechnology, and Biofabrication. Remarq is a new tool for the publishing community offering annotation, commenting, article sharing, and collaboration, all on the publisher’s site and utilizing the version of record.

Remarq keeps researchers and readers on publisher-branded sites by providing a powerful and smoothly integrated set of tools that support authors, editors, and users. By supporting engagement on the version of record, Remarq offers the opportunity to leverage author updates, supplemental information or data, and additional assets related to the article, creating a rich environment for collaboration.

“Remarq solves a number of problems at once for editors, authors, publishers, and readers,” said Kent Anderson, CEO, RedLink. “Best of all, it’s easy for publishers to get started, and very affordable. Remarq enhances the current ecosystem rather than competing with it.”

Jamie Hutchins, Publishing Director at IOP Publishing, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with RedLink to launch the Remarq pilot on six of our journals. We embrace new technology, such as that provided by Remarq, to help increase the impact of our author’s work by providing the tools for researchers to engage with and share scientific information, and to provide opportunities to collaborate.”

The IOP journals join additional journals from Canadian Science Publishing as early adopters of Remarq, which launched its first version in mid-May.
