A new report highlighting the extraordinary growth of materials research in Brazil was launched today at the annual conference of the Brazilian Materials Research Society (B-MRS). The report, produced by IOP Publishing on behalf of the B-MRS, reflects the rapid expansion in the field over the last two decades, with more than 2000 delegates registered to attend this year’s B-MRS meeting in João Pessoa.
The report is divided into topics ranging from electronics and engineering through to healthcare and biomaterials, and also provides an insight into the research networks and world-class infrastructure supported by Brazil’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. The exclusive coverage in the report emerged from extensive research by IOP Publishing’s science journalists, along with face-to-face interviews with researchers at Brazil’s leading scientific institutions.
