IOP Publishing donates journals to Hebei University

IOP Publishing (IOP) has donated over 1,500 print copies of journals to the College of Physics Science & Technology, Hebei University as part of their commitment to supporting the Chinese research community.

Professor Wang Ming-Feng, Vice President of Hebei University received the donation from Dr Nicola Gulley, Senior Vice President, Editorial at IOP. The meeting provided a good opportunity to discuss the challenges faced by researchers when publishing in journals and the challenges for publishers to evolve to meet the needs of researchers.

Dr Gulley said, “Researchers in China are very important to IOP as they submit articles to many of our journals and contribute to the strong standing of its publications. As a society publisher, IOP works with authors, societies, libraries, funders, and other partners to offer products and services that put the progress of knowledge at the heart of everything that we do.”

The donation contributes to the journal collection of Hebei University, and will provide additional reference material for the teachers and students in the university.

It included a variety of issues of journals dated from 2001 to 2013, with content covering applied physics, condensed matter physics, materials science, high-energy and nuclear physics, optics, atomic and molecular physics, plasma physics and other relevant disciplines.
