Congratulations to the ABSW IOP Student Science Publication Award winners

IOP Publishing and the Institute of Physics wishes to congratulate the winners of the IOP Student Science Publication Award, announced at last night’s ABSW award ceremony.

The awards were presented by Matin Durrani, Editor of Physics World, as follows:

Winner: Women Rock Science
Online publication
Editor: Hadiza Mohammed

Runner up: The Gist
Printed magazine – University of Strathclyde
Editor: Timothy Revell

Shortlisted: Spark Magazine
Printed magazine – University of York
Team Entry: Will Ingram (Editor), Matt Ravenhall (Editor), Ellen Rawlins (Photography Editor), Tree Jervis (Web Editor), Jess Wynn (Content Editor)

The winner was presented with a certificate and cash prize of £300 and the runner up received a certificate and cash prize of £200. Publications were judged on the quality of science writing, in terms of good journalism, creativity and appropriateness for the publication’s target audience, as well as the overall design.
