The judges said: “It’s like a posh cream tea – full of delightful things, great variety and lots of intellectual calories.”

Prize: £300 and certificates.

Runner up: I, Science, Imperial College

Co-Editors in Chief: Jennifer Toes and Iona Twaddell

Magazine Editor: Kruti Shrotri

The judges said: “A really enjoyable read, with consistently good science content throughout.”

Also on the shortlist was Science 151 (City University).

Publications were judged on the quality of science writing, in terms of good journalism, creativity and appropriateness for the publication’s target audience, as well as the overall design.
