Purpose-Led Publishing: Standing firm in support of independent, open science

When AIP Publishing, the American Physical Society, and IOP Publishing came together to form Purpose-Led Publishing, we made a promise to the global research community: that we would always, in no uncertain terms, put science first. At the core of that promise is the belief that fundamental science should be accessible to everybody for the benefit of all — and that any impediments to the free and open exchange of scientific concepts, research, or data run counter to the very spirit of science itself. 

Purpose-Led Publishing believes there has never been a more important time to stand firm in support of independent, open science. We stand with those in the U.S. affected by recent events. We promise to continue to work hand-in-hand with the global scientific community to protect and preserve the integrity and ethical standards that serve as the bedrock of high-quality scholarly communications. We will not waver in our dedication to the community, our editorial policies will remain steadfast and true to our ethical standards, and we will, as always, make science our only shareholder.
