IOP Publishing (IOPP) has signed the UK Publishing Inclusion Pledge 2026–28, reaffirming its commitment to building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive (DE&I) publishing sector. As a signatory to the pledge, IOPP will strive to ensure fair opportunities and an environment where everyone is respected, heard and supported.
The pledge, led by the Publishers Association, brings together publishers of all sizes and specialisms to drive measurable progress in DE&I across the industry.
Dan Conway, CEO of the Publishers Association, said: “At this precise time it feels crucial to re-state our responsibility as leaders to create a publishing industry that supports inclusion in all its forms. Diverse perspectives bring us strength, and I am proud that the Publishers Association is leading this important work and that we have receivedso much engagement with th e pledge from publishers . Working together we will make progress and put ourselves in the best position to produce content that speaks to our readers and society.”
Over the next three years, the Publishing Inclusion Pledge will guide participating organisations in taking evidence-led action, supported by tools, resources and opportunities to share best practice across the sector. This shared approach will help publishers address key challenges and continue to advance the long-term cultural change the industry needs.
We look forward to working with the Publishers Association and peers to help build a more inclusive future for publishing.
