Do you know what COUNTER release 4 means for usage reporting at your institution?

09 Jan 2016 by iopp

New usage reports for journals and ebooks

In addition to the existing journal reports, you will also be able to run:

  • Journal Report 1 GOA  successful Gold Open Access article requests by month and by journal
  • Journal Report 2 – full-text access denials by month, journal and category

Furthermore, if you’ve purchased IOP ebooks™, book reports are now available which allow you to easily track their usage:

  • Book Report 2 – number of successful section requests by month and title
  • Book Report 3 – access denied to content items by month, title and category

These reports will be available from 2014 onwards, or from the purchase date of your IOP ebooks.

View your organisation’s usage statistics on the go

The COUNTER interface will be optimised for mobile viewing, allowing you to conveniently see your institution’s statistics on your mobile phone or tablet, wherever you are.

Have more control over how you view your statistics using dynamic reporting

With dynamic reporting, you are no longer restricted to just viewing usage statistics by calendar year. You will now have the option to specify the date range by month for the usage data you want to view, going back over the last 24 months. This feature will be especially useful for examining usage based on the fiscal or academic year.
