Announcing ‘Quantum 2022’ – an international online workshop taking place on 22 and 23 October

Co-organised in collaboration with the World Young Scientist Summit (WYSS), the Chinese Physical Society (CPS) and the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), IOP Publishing is running ‘Quantum 2022’, a a free online workshop for the international quantum science and technology community.

Representing a follow-up to the successful ‘Quantum 2020’ virtual conference, ‘Quantum 2022’ will be chaired by Professor Chaoyang Lu (University of Science and Technology of China) and takes place on 22 and 23 October. The scientific programme includes 28 invited talks from world-leading researchers covering some of the most important developments in the field. Among the prominent speakers are:

  • Mete Atatüre, University of Cambridge, UK
  • Jens Eisert, Free University of Berlin, Germany
  • Steven Girvin, Yale University, USA
  • Tracy Northup, University of Innsbruck, Austria
  • Jianwei Pan, University of Science and Technology of China, China
  • Li Qian, University of Toronto, Canada
  • Birgitta Whaley, University of California, Berkeley, USA

 

Professor Chaoyang Lu, the Chair for ‘Quantum 2022’, said: “Following on from the success of Quantum 2020, I am delighted to be working with IOP Publishing again in bringing together another high-profile event for the quantum science community. With my colleagues on the organising committee, we’ve managed to put together a fantastic programme with talks from world-leading speakers that will cover some of the most exciting directions in quantum science and technology today.

A focus issue aligned with ‘Quantum 2022’ on the theme of “Recent Progress in Quantum Computation and Quantum Simulation” has been announced in the IOP Publishing journal Quantum Science and Technology.
