AI-Driven Discoveries: Machine Learning for the Physical Sciences Code of Conduct
AI-Driven Discoveries: Machine Learning for the Physical Sciences is an international, one-day event taking place on 27 April 2025 in Shanghai, China. This workshop will bring together top researchers from across the globe to explore and collaborate on the transformative role of machine learning in advancing physical sciences. IOP Publishing Limited (“IOPP”) values the engagement of each attendee and aims to ensure that all attendees have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. All attendees must show respect and courtesy to others throughout the series of events. All attendees and speakers at AI-Driven Discoveries: Machine Learning for the Physical Sciences must agree with this code of conduct which will be enforced throughout the event. IOPP expects cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody. Thank you for helping to make this a welcoming, friendly event for all.
Attendees and speakers should treat all fellow participants with courtesy, civility and respect. Harassment and harassing behaviour of any form will not be tolerated. Any participants asked to stop harassing behaviour must do so immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, IOPP may take any action it deems to be appropriate, including warning them or expelling them from the AI-Driven Discoveries: Machine Learning for the Physical Sciences event. Harassment and harassing behaviour may include, but is not limited to:
- Verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or technology choices;
- Sexual images in public spaces;
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following;
- Harassing photography or recording;
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events;
- Unwelcome sexual attention;
- Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour
