Be part of a community working together to make science better. A society publisher with the perfect blend of a not-for-profit purpose and a commercial perspective. Here, we help each other be the best we can be: a team big enough to create impact and small enough to care.
Job Listings
All our jobs are advertised via our careers site, Jobs | IOP Publishing, and internal employees can find our jobs here: Current vacancies | IOP Publishing.
Our job adverts include salary information, and most of our roles offer hybrid working opportunities. The advert will state the frequency you will be required to attend the relevant office unless it’s a fully remote position.
We have a flexible approach to work and if you have any additional requirements to the working pattern stated in the job advert then please still apply and we can discuss this with you.
Application Process
Once you apply for a role you’ll receive an automated email confirming receipt of your application.
We endeavour to review applications and respond as quickly as possible. However, we usually wait until after the closing date (as indicated in the job advert) to start selecting candidates for interview.
Interview Process
Our interview process varies depending on the role, but you can expect:
Invite to interview
We’ll invite you to book a date and time slot for your interview, and will include details of the interviewers, format of interview and duration. You will be able to select a slot that suits you. If you require a different interview time, then please contact our Talent Team at careers@ioppublishing.org
Preparation materials
To help you prepare for your interview, we’ll send to all interviewees a copy of the job description and a useful STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result framework) document. If you require further information or adjustments, please let our team at careers@ioppublishing.org know who will be happy to assist.
Interview stage in-person or via Teams
This interview gives you the chance to meet your potential manager and colleagues to discuss the role, team, and your skills and experience. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions. For some roles, only one interview is required, focusing on competency and technical questions. Other roles may involve two interviews, including competency-based and technical questions. In some cases, you may also be asked to complete a task or present on a topic to assess key skills.

Feedback and Offers
After your interview(s), you’ll receive feedback via email on the outcome. If successful, our Talent Team will call with a verbal offer and details of the offer and onboarding process. We aim to provide constructive feedback to all interviewees, either by email or phone.

Supportive Adjustments
We offer supportive adjustments to all steps of the interview process and welcome you to share with us ahead of time how we can help you feel safe and supported.

Dress Code
Our dress code for employees and interviewees is smart casual.
