As an employer of almost 300 people in Bristol, we have numerous facets of our business that require a variety of skills from our people. First things first, though – you don’t necessarily need a physics qualification to join us.
If you’re interested in developing a career within scientific, technical and medical (STM) publishing, or have experience of working within STM publishing and have a physics or physical sciences background, one of our publishing-related roles could be for you.
IOP Publishing has several roles and support departments where we require administrative, technical or professional skills from the people we employ. So if you’re interested in developing a career within IT, or perhaps furthering your studies and career within finance, then the support roles section is for you.
Publishing roles

Commercial roles
We are a successful and growing international organisation with a business presence and IOP Publishing employees in 10 countries. Our ambition is to be the world’s leading scientific publisher and we’re constantly exploring new ways to succeed in the very competitive publishing industry. Our commercial function is integral to helping us achieve our bold vision. Within this function, we have roles in global sales, B2B sales, marketing and partner development.
