Physics World wins Eddie Award

26 Oct 2015 by iopp

Physics World® magazine has won best "App/Digital Edition" and has also picked up an honourable mention for best "Design Cover" in the Association/Non-Profit (B-to-B) category at the Eddie and Ozzie Awards.

The awards, organized by Folio, recognize the best in eye-catching design and uncompromising journalism in the magazine industry.

Jo Allen, Head of B2B & Marketing at IOP Publishing said: “We are absolutely delighted that Physics World has been named in these awards, especially on winning in the app/digital category.

“Our aim, when we launched the new digital magazine last year, was to create the first digital magazine of its kind specifically in physics publishing. Through working with leading software house Kaldor and using the latest technologies, we replaced the previous incarnation with a digitally optimized magazine that truly unshackles the magazine’s content to provide our readers with both elegance and flexibility.

Matin Durrani, Editor of Physics World added: “This latest achievement follows a series of international awards and commendations for Physics World over the past few years. We are so pleased that our vision and hard work continues to be recognized.”

Physics World is widely recognized as the world’s must-read physics title and, having been central to the Institute of Physics' membership offering for more than 25 years, is now available to members of other national societies.

The team behind the magazine will find out whether Physics World is named winner of "Science and Nature Magazine of the Year" at the Digital Magazine Awards ceremony on 11 November.
