The PAM Division of the Special Libraries Association (SLA) has chosen Sharice Collins, IOP Publishing’s Vice President of Marketing, as the recipient of their annual Achievement Award.
The award recognizes Sharice for her outstanding contributions to and impact on the library community. This is the first time the award has been given to an individual who is not a librarian, which in itself is an outstanding achievement.
Kathleen Lehman, Chair of the awards committee and Head of the Physics Library at the University of Arkansas, presented the award to Sharice at last week’s SLA meeting in Boston, MA.
Kathleen said: “While Sharice is not herself a librarian, she is a dedicated member of PAM and committed to making sure the librarians’ voices are heard in the world of scientific publishing.
“Sharice has insisted she is “just doing her job” but in all of the ways she has gone above and beyond for our Division, both personally and professionally, Sharice has earned the PAM Achievement Award.”
Sharice has been a member of the SLA and the PAM Division since 1994. During this time, she has been instrumental to the following activities:
Sharice said: “I am humbled to have received the 2015 PAM Achievement Award. Working with members of the PAM Division is a true highlight of my career and to be recognized by this esteemed group of dynamic and brilliant librarians is an honor I will always treasure.”
