18 Sep 2013 by iopp

We are pleased to announce that IOP Publishing’s (IOP) three newest materials research journals are now open for article submissions.

Announced in July 2013 as part of a further expansion of IOP’s materials programme, the three journal websites have gone live today on iopscience.org and will now begin welcoming submissions from the community.

As part of the launch phase all three titles will be freely available throughout 2014 for individual users, universities and academic research institutes. Open access publishing options are also available for authors.

The three new journals are as follows:

Translational Materials Research

Editor-in-Chief: George Grüner, University of California, Los Angeles, USA

Translational Materials Research is a new type of journal focusing on the steps needed to translate breakthroughs in advanced materials research into commercial technologies, products and applications.

Translational Materials Research will also be supported by the TMR+ blog.

2D Materials

Editor-in-Chief: Vladimir I Fal’ko, Lancaster University, UK

2D Materials is a major new multidisciplinary journal devoted to publishing original research of the highest quality and impact covering all aspects of graphene and related two-dimensional materials including both fundamental properties and novel applications.
