Congratulations to Professor Chennupati Jagadish, Section Editor of Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics (JPhysD), who has been awarded the IEEE Nanotechnology Pioneer Award.
The award has been given to Professor Jagadish for “pioneering and sustained contributions to compound semiconductor nanowire and quantum dot optoelectronics”.
Professor Jagadish is Distinguished Professor and Head of the Semiconductor Optoelectronics and Nanotechnology Group at the Australian National University. He has been an Editorial Board member of JPhysD since 2007 and Editor for the Semiconductor and Photonics Materials and Devices section since 2011, contributing greatly to the growth of this important section during his term. He has also written several research papers published in IOP Publishing journals.

The award will be formally presented to Professor Jagadish on 29 July at IEEE NANO 2015 in Rome, Italy.
