JPhysD Section Editor recognised in Australia Day Honours

Congratulations to Professor Chennupati Jagadish, Section Editor of Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics (JPhysD), who has been awarded Australia’s highest honour for his service to physics and engineering.

Professor Jagadish is Distinguished Professor and Head of the Semiconductor Optoelectronics and Nanotechnology Group at the Australian National University. He is also the vice-president of the Australian Academy of Science and founded the Australian Nanotechnology Network, which has more than 1,400 members.

About the honour, Professor Jagadish said: “I am humbled and grateful to receive the highest civilian honour given by the Australian Government, AC, Companion of Order of Australia as part of Australia Day Honours announced by the Governor General’s office.”

An Editorial Board member of JPhysD since 2007 and Editor for the Semiconductor and Photonics Materials and Devices section since 2011, Professor Jagadish has contributed greatly to the growth of this important section during his term. He has also written several research papers published in IOP Publishing journals.
