IOP Publishing’s book programme, IOP ebooks, has been awarded silver in the ALPSP Awards for Innovation in Publishing.
The award was presented at last night’s ALPSP 2014 international conference in Heathrow, where the judges recognised the “boldness of IOP’s reinvention of a core business, which sets digital and the user at the heart of its strategy”.
Christian Box, Head of Sales Operations at IOP Publishing, who picked up the award, said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded silver at the ALPSP Awards. To win this award is testament to all of the hard work from the staff at IOP”.
The IOP ebooks programme has been built around the reader – offering multiple options for reading on different devices (HTML, PDF and EPUB 3), and incorporating elements such as mathML wherever possible. It has been fully integrated with IOPscience, the company’s online journals website for seamless searching and exceptional discoverability.
To date, 12 books have been published from the IOP ebooks programme across two collections – IOP Expanding Physics and IOP Concise Physics (published in partnership with Morgan & Claypool). A total of 30-35 books are to be published by the end of the year.
