The Argentinean Bioengineering Society (SABI) and IOP Publishing (IOP) have signed an agreement to publish the conference proceedings from the Argentine Congress of Bioengineering and Clinical Engineering Conference VIII (SABI 2013) for the fourth time running.
SABI 2013, being held on 4 – 6 September in Tucumán, Argentina, will bring together students and science professionals working in the field of bioengineering from around the world.
The biennial conference is being organized by the NOA Regional of the Argentinean Bioengineering Society and the Bioengineering Department of the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Tecnología (FACET), Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (UNT).
SABI have published their proceedings in IOP’s Journal of Physics: Conference Series since 2007.
Anete Ashton, Conference Commissioning Editor at IOP said: “We are delighted to extend our relationship with SABI and the bioengineering community through publishing the conference proceedings. The papers from SABI conferences are always popular, attracting hundreds of downloads, and we look forward to publishing the latest proceedings.”
Gabriel Ruiz, Conference Editor at FACET said: “We are pleased to have chosen IOP, once again, to publish the SABI conference proceedings. IOP Publishing provides a space in the net through their websites that allows researchers and research organisations, all over the world, access to the scientific production presented at our conference. Through IOP, the papers from SABI conferences have had thousands of downloads, with an average of 700 downloads per paper, and some of these have been downloaded 5,500 times. So we are very pleased with the scope we have through publishing the conference proceedings with IOP.”
SABI was set up in 1979 as a non-profit civil society, with its main aim of encouraging the development of science in order to solve biological and medical science problems. It is a pioneer in the area of bioengineering in Argentina, having helped to introduce many graduate programmes in this field.
